First Step to Make This Sugar Cookie Recipe
For step 1, grab your large mixing bowl. You can also preheat your oven to 350 degrees F at this step.
If you move quickly, you’ll want to preheating to start right now.
Next, grab your three eggs.
Crack each egg into the mixing bowl and throw out the shells. You’ll be mixing them around in there for this sugar cookie recipe.
Be careful not to get any shell in there when you’re cracking them. After that, grab your whisk and mix the eggs around so the yolks break. Next, get a large bowl or measuring cup. I’m using my Pyrex measuring cup.
Also, grab 1 cup’s worth of butter. This is usually two sticks.
Put them into a microwave safe dish or a Pyrex measuring cup if you have one of those. You’ll need to soften the butter before mixing it in with the eggs. I’m pretty much liquefying it for this sugar cookie recipe.
Once you liquefy it, pour the butter mixture in with your eggs. Stir that around really well.
Next, go and grab some sugar. You need to measure some out to go into this.
Get 1 cup of that sugar measured out.
Next for this sugar cookie recipe, dump that 1 cup of sugar into the mixture in the bowl.
This will get pretty tempting to eat. I mean who doesn’t want to just start cramming butter and sugar into their mouth? Anyway, mix all that around really well.
Next, get your salt
You only need to put in a pinch of salt, or a 1/8th teaspoon.
Next, it’s time to grab your measuring spoons for this sugar cookie recipe.
You’ll be measuring out the baking powder, so grab that, too.
After that, you’ll be dumping two teaspoons into the current mixture.
Mix that around really well so there aren’t any clumps or anything. Next, grab your flour since we can’t have cookies without that!
Measure out between 2-3 cups of flour. Since I didn’t want to overload the cookies with them, I went with 2.5 cups.
Dump that in there. This was the point in the sugar cookie recipe that I started to think that maybe I should have been using a stand mixer. The dough got really stuck in my whisk.
Mix that really well.
Yea, probably shouldn’t have gone with using a whisk. Oh well. Maybe a wooden mixing spoon would’ve worked for this sugar cookie recipe. Once you’ve mixed that around well and scraped as much dough out of your whisk as you can, grab the vanilla.
Just pour in a little bit. A teaspoon is probably fine if you want a specific amount.
After that, mix it around a bit. After that, get your baking sheet and line it with aluminum foil and parchment paper.
Next, start lining the paper with a few balls of dough that are small to medium-sized.
Mine were a little big the first time around, but that’s not the end of the world. None of the cookies in this sugar cookie recipe were stuck together after baking or anything, which was nice.
Your final product should look something like the picture above. Light, fluffy, and a great snack or dessert. Hope you enjoy this sugar cookie recipe. Here’s the short version:
